10 Things Spiritual People Need You To Know
Everyone is “spiritual” if they acknowledge they have a spirit or a soul that inhabits and animates their clump of stardust. However, we all express our spirituality in different and wondrous ways. A problem that often arises is when people have conflicting beliefs that make one belief appear to be more superior than the other. I’m not talking about religion, I’m talking about the various ways that people engage with the flow of spirituality in their lives believing that it is THE ONLY WAY vs. A WAY.
“There are many paths to enlightenment. Be sure to take one with a heart.” – Lao Tzu
The beauty of life is that spirituality comes in all different shapes and sizes. There is not a generic framework of beliefs and behaviors that a person MUST adhere to in order to be called “spiritual”. I believe that true spirituality is about finding what makes your own heart sing. It’s about finding your own unique alignment with the hum of the Universe and expanding your consciousness along the way.
True spiritual growth happens in a space beyond judgement. It’s not all black and white, cut and dry – there are an infinite amount of shades of possibility within this beautiful rainbow called life.
Here is a list of 10 Things Spiritual People Need You to Know.
Please feel free to share this with your friends, your family or to anyone that might have you pigeon-holed as a kale eating, tie-dye wearing, woo-woo weirdo that favors using hummus over deodorant. (*note: not that there’s anything wrong with this xo).
1. You can be spiritual and say words like f@#$, t%ts and bullsheeto
Why? Because you are in control of your own language patterns. Remember your word is your wand and there are so many interesting and creative words in the English language (only saying English because that’s the language I’m writing in). If you want to curse or swear, it can be useful and decorative in so many situations.
2. You can be spiritual and express anger (appropriately of course)
It’s totally fine to get angry from time to time. It’s not natural to hold it in because you will emotionally implode. Spiritual people are allowed to experience the full range of emotions and don’t have to just be joyful and blissed out all the time. Remember, depression is anger turned inward.
3. You can be spiritual and not be a vegetarian or vegan
As long as you’re grateful and conscious about the source of your food, then what you eat is your own business. I’ve been a vegan for most of my life because I don’t like meat. If I condemn others for eating animals and I judge them, then I’m not following my own spiritual principles.
4. You can be spiritual and not meditate regularly or at all
Everything in life can be a meditation. It depends how naturally in the flow you are. Having the choice is what’s important.
5. You can be spiritual and love horror movies
If you’re cool with having certain images running around in your subconscious then good for you. You can love blood, guts and gore and just see it for what it is…entertainment. However, if you’re a super sensitive person I would highly recommend sticking to Disney movies.
6. You can be spiritual and not believe in God (The Universe)
This one is an interesting one, a personal journey. For some people it boils down to cultural beliefs, understanding and patterns from childhood.
7. You can be spiritual and be really really really RICH
You are worthy of attracting abundance. There is absolutely nothing wrong about manifesting wealth into your life. Cash and consciousness is a super-sexy combination.
8. You can be spiritual and love fashion, reality TV and junk food
We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Have fun along the way and don’t take everything so seriously.
9. You can be spiritual and not be religious
There is deep spirituality in every religion, although that spirituality doesn’t need to be contained by the doctrine of an organization. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with following a path of faith.
10. You can be spiritual in any way that expresses the light in your soul on your own personal journey.
Nothing more needs to be said about this one.
